10 Months
Abby is 10 months old today. We have been getting quite the workout chasing her through the house. Her current favorite is to take off down the hallway and try to make it into either her room or our room before we can catch her. She will stop and turn back about half way to make sure we are right behind her. She is currently cutting more teeth, so she's had a little bit of a fever. Thankfully, it hasn't been too awfully bad. We will post more video of her crawling and driving her new car soon. She's a pretty good driver. (Better than some on the actual roads!)

Congratulations, Joey and Jennifer!!
Over the weekend, my nephew Joey got hitched! He and Jennifer were very happy and we are so happy for them. We wish them all the luck in the world. The wedding was beautiful. Quentin, Joey's son, cried through most of it because he "was so happy for Daddy." (Sound of heart turning to mush!) How sweet! He's only 5. Heart breaker already!
As a bonus to the excitement, Uncle Tim, Aunt Debbie, and TJ stayed with us. Abby loved having the company. TJ is her new best friend. She was always wanting to play with him and give him hugs.

These Booties Were Made For Walking
For the past couple of weeks, Tiffany and I have been wanting to get the kids out of the house on warm days (or warmer days), so we have been taking them for walks at TVA's Cherokee Dam. The first attempt turned out to be chillier than we thought whereas the second time was warmer than we thought. Perhaps next time we will get it right. The babies really like looking around and getting fresh air. The mommies really like getting out of the house and getting some exercise. Here is how our advertures went:
The first trip started with happy babies!

Ben loved his snugli.
Abby loved the view from her stroller!
When the wind kicked up, Abby gave Ben her mittens.
They were so comfy he decided to take a little snooze.
The blanket was suppose to help block the wind, but
she kept pulling it back to see what was going on.
(I'm not too mean. She was asleep when I put
the blanket up for her.)
After the adventure, it was back home to warm up
and play.

For the second trip, we tried a different approach:
Ben decided to start with a nap for this walk.
It's so cute how he has a grip on his favorite
ducky, Quackers.

Some of what we saw:
Because of the recent drought , the water levels are
way down, even for TVA standards. This is the Holston
River at the base of the dam.

Here is a view from the top of the dam

We also saw a fox and a groundhog on the second walk, but I could not get a good picture of them. The fox was resting on the lake shore and the groundhog was hanging out in a field on the river side of the dam.
We enjoy our walks so much that we have decided to go on a "nature" walk at least once a week when weather permits.

Changes
The past month has been a whirlwind for us. Right after New Years, Abby started crawling. . . EVERYWHERE. She hasn't really stopped since she started. She is pulling up and cruising around the living room like a pro. As if that weren't enough, we have also welcomed 4 new teeth. (All on top.) With all of this happening at once, it's no wonder she has only recently started sleeping all night again. All of these new developments are exciting, especially the one where she waves "bye bye" and has said "mama" a couple of times. (Daddy's girl has been saying "dada" for quite a while now. ) Today, however, we hit a milestone that I will admit made me tear up. We used the infant carrier for the last time. I love our carrier, but she is just too tall for it. We have graduated to the convertible car seat. She will still have to be rear facing until at least her first birthday , but she seems so big in it. Oh well, I will get over not having a tiny, cuddle buddy and enjoy my very active and excited little one. It really is pretty good exercise. :)
Here are some of the changes we have experienced:

This is the day we left the hospital.
Then, she mutated. So. . .
We had to upgrade!
The seat is in the car and apparently
rides pretty well. She took to
it quite nicely.
First night at home.
How sweet, huh?!?
This is how we find her when she wakes up at
nap time, in the middle of the night, or in the morning.
Notice that the mattress had to be dropped to its lowest
setting because she was pulling up on the rails.
Chillin' out in the living room then. . .
(Doesn't she look like a little gnome?)
and Now.

I have yet to get a good picture of the new teeth, but as soon as I do, I'll post them. Hope everyone is doing great. Leave us a comment to say HI. I will post soon about our walks with Aunt Tiffany and Baby Ben.
