Georgia On My Mind

On Saturday, July 28th, we ventured out again in Abby's Caddy (a.k.a. Grandma and Grandpa's van) for our second road trip! We finally got to go see our family in Calhoun, Georgia. This was the first time Abby got to meet her Great Granny White, Aunt Alice, Aunt Paula, and Uncle Kenneth. Uncle David was not able to be there, but we really hope to go back soon to see him.
Abby was a real trooper on the trip. She slept all the way down and all the way back. (340+ miles round trip).

Grandpa discusses the travel plans with
his "pumpkin" before we depart.

She was asleep before we got to the interstate.

Granny White was thrilled to finally get to hold Abby.
Abby was very comfy in Granny's arms.

Aunt Paula, Grandpa's sister, came straight over when she
heard Abby was in town. They had a great
time laughing at one another. I'm sure she has plenty
of great stories on Grandpa for when Abby gets older.

Uncle Kenneth was smitten with Abby, too.
They were wearing one of her favorite colors!

She had to get in her fun time with Daddy.
Here they are playing one of her favorite new games,
bounce on the parent.

Going out to lunch really wore Abby out.

Okay, so apparently everything wears Abby out.
Here, she naps in Grandpa's arms, one of her favorite past times.

We were so excited that Aunt Alice felt well enough to go
out to eat with us.

The Girls!

Granny White and Abby became instant pals.
Neither could quit smiling at the other.

Four Generation of Whites!
Steve, Larry, Abby, and Frances.

Our Aunts are Great!

Abby has spent a lot of time this week meeting her extended family. We were able to spend some time with Aunt Dot again while she was visiting. Also, she was finally able to meet Aunt Ruth, Aunt Roberta, Uncle Ron, Uncle KB, and Aunt Sarah. Our cousins Brenda and Dale were also in town and got to meet Abigail. She was the perfect baby, as always, and let everyone hold her and play with her.

Aunt Dot is a pro at making Abby smile.

Mommy has spent many hours at
Aunt Ruth's house in her recliner.

Obviously, Abby loves her Aunt Roberta.
We wished we had more time to spend with her.

Brenda could not wait to hold Abby.

Darlene and Brenda include Abby in their girl talk.

As a bonus, we got some quality time with Mamaw.

Mamaw Hensley would be proud.

Fun times

Abby is officially three months old today. She seems to be growing and changing everyday. According to her tummy time mat, she is now 25 inches long, and she weighed 12 lbs. 12 oz. at he doctor's office a week ago. Her personality is really starting to show now. She is very laid back and loves to smile. She's also a couch potato. She loves watching TV. We try to provide quality programing for her during the day. Baby Einstein is her favorite; however, she does like to watch video games as well. I thought you would enjoy seeing some of the things she has been up to this past week.

She has become better aquainted with Phoebe.
(Just as a side note: She still hates Tummy Time.)

She has been trying on hats.
This is our current favorite outfit to dress her in.

She even likes hair bows.
This was taken during a game of dress up which
was played to determine what size she is.
Apparently, she is in 3-6 month size now, but she can also
still fit into 0-3 month outfits, too.

She loves helping mommy. . .

when the laundry basket is involved.

She has been practicing for the beach with the
sunglasses Grandma and Grandpa got her.

Here she is trying to disguise herself so she
can go grocery shopping without the paparazzi (or in this case- momarazzi)
trying to catch her every move on film.

She and Daddy love hamming it up for the camera!

A Week of Firsts

Abigail has had a big week, and it is just Wednesday morning. It all started on Sunday with her first road trip to Bristol. On Monday, we rested. On Tuesday she went on her first shopping excursion with Mommy and Aunt Tiffany. She was the perfect baby. We went to Babies R Us to pick out toys and other fun things. like a sleep sac, with the gift card her cousin Nevada sent her. We then headed to the mall for a philly cheese steak sandwich and an outfit for mommy. She did not fuss at all. I think she is going to like shopping.

Then, a major first. Abby slept through the night on Tuesday night. She slept from 10-6. She woke up hungry; but as soon as that was remedied, she was happy. She even took another nap after Daddy kissed her goodbye.

A quick nap at the food court.

Abby and Aunt Tiffany helped Mommy pick out an outfit for
her upcoming class reunion.

Abby loved the live trees they have planted in the mall.

Abby started to stir after 8 hours of great sleep.
It is kind of hard to tell here, but her knees are drawn up in the air
just like her daddy does when he is waking up.

Abby and Mommy celebrate a good night's sleep!

ROAD TRIP!!!

Sunday is a day we have been looking forward to for a long time. Our cousins from Kansas were in Bristol at Granny Stone's house. We were so excited to finally introduce Abby to Ted, Kristen, Lauren, and Megan. Granny Stone, Aunt Kathy, and Uncle Randall were excited to how much Abby has grown since the last time they saw her. Abby was only two weeks old then. She is now 11 weeks old!!! We'll just let the pictures do the talking.

Grandma and Grandpa came by
and picked us up in the minivan (aka Abby's Caddy).

It did not take long to get settled once we arrived.

Abby's first lunch at Granny's.
She actually woke up for dessert.

Then, it was time to play.
Abby loved playing with Cousin Lauren.
They shared a lot of quality time together.

On the other hand, Megan was a little more shy about Abby.
She preferred to practice her new trick, walking. Here
she is with Ted, her daddy.

After playtime, Abby took another nap.

Granny's cat, Fat Phil, thought a nap was a grand idea. . .

so did Grandpa!!

After naptime, it was time to meet more family.
Abby's great-great aunt Barbara Ann came by to see her.
She was wearing Abby's favorite color,
and Abby couldn't keep her eyes off of her.

Here is four generations! Grandma, Granny, Daddy, and Abby.

After a long day, there's nothing like a nap on Daddy
to rejuvenate oneself.

Another Fun Week

This week has been full of fun activities. We began the week at church and playing video games (aka the usual). On Monday, we received word that our friend Bridgette's son was born. We are so glad that little Ethan James is here. We are especially glad to hear he is starting to feel better after having to get treatment for a problem with his blood. Please continue to pray for Ethan and his Mom and Dad. We love you, Bridgette, Philip, and Ethan!

On the 4th, we visited our friends Aimee, James, and Talmadge (although James had to work). Tal is so cute. I couldn't keep from hugging him and kissing his "little" cheeks.

Here she is in the pretty dress Miss B.A.
gave her ready to go to church.

The dynamic duo prepare for an afternoon with Zelda.
(Note the smile, Bryan!!)

What's more American than pancakes at Cracker Barrel
on the Fourth of July?

Despite her face here, Abby had a blast at James and Aimee's.
Here she is hanging out with Casi and Talmadge.

Isn't he cute?

Nothing like some quality time with Grandpa
after a long day.

We were pleasantly suprised by a visit from our good friends on
Thursday. Pop, who practically adopted me when I was high school,
couldn't wait to meet Abby.

Abby tried tell Paula about Mommy sleeping through the
exercise video she dubbed for her. (Thankfully, it
only sounded like coos and gurgles.)

Tomorrow, the Whites are off to Bristol to see family. It will be Abby's first road trip!!!
